I feel privileged to have achieved my lifelong ambition of becoming a veterinarian, and as I enter my second year of practice, I am excited to apply and build upon the knowledge and skills I have gained so far. The profession has proven to be as challenging, dynamic, and rewarding as I had hoped, and I find genuine fulfillment in the work I do.
I have a strong interest in small animal medicine, particularly the diagnostic and investigative aspects of practice. I enjoy the problem-solving nature of clinical work and the opportunity to utilise evidence-based resources to develop tailored, patient-centered management plans.
My experience to date has reinforced that veterinary medicine is a career of lifelong learning. I am motivated to continue developing my knowledge and skills, with the aim of identifying an area in which I can develop expertise while maintaining a broad and well-rounded scope of practice.
I am an organised and hardworking individual who values teamwork both professionally and personally. I am punctual, reliable, and approachable, and I am often described as caring and compassionate, with a calm temperament and a positive attitude.
This has involved a wide range of predominantly small animal work, from routine vaccinations and everyday consultations to a 1-in-3 weekend roster and after-hours on-call duties, which can be quite busy. We have access to in-house haematology and biochemistry, as well as standard radiography and ultrasound. I have also begun performing surgical procedures, which I really enjoy, and I am keen to continue building my skills and confidence in this area.
