2020 - Current

Mawley Park
Management, Reception & Cleaning
2013 - Current

Assist with day to day running of Mawley Park camp ground. Role includes two shifts managing the park, being sole charge responsibly, answering phones, emails, general inquiries etc, using financial systems, taking payments and welcoming guests to the accommodation facility. The other two shifts involve cleaning ensuites, cabins and keeping facilities clean and accommodating for guests.

Nov 2018 - 2019 Registered Nurse

Arbor House, Greytown

26 bedded rest-home, geriatric and medical facility. Each shift, once orientated I was the sole nurse in charge. My shifts would involve anything from: medication oversight; wound dressings; pain assessment and management; overseeing palliative patients; supporting patients families; flushing IDC, changing stoma bags; assessing falls and triaging medical situations for hospital level care; liaising with G.Ps over patient care and medication errors; and delegating and overseeing HCA activities.

2018 Census - 4 Months (short-term Contract)

Interacting with the public in rural and urban areas of Tairawhiti, to encourage and assist with compliance of the 2018 Census forms. Autonomously managing workloads and updating and keeping records on different computer databases.

Moved closer to family to spend time and care for a grandparent in palliative stage. Pursued other interests - mission work, church internship, Certificate in Apiculture, and worked intermittently in Levin doing farm and support work.

Completed DTS (discipleship training school) to equip and skill for overseas mission. Overseas outreach worker  predominately in Thailand. Worked alongside established mission and ministry organisations, such as Abba House in Chiang Mai (reducing and preventing child trafficking) and refugee's in Chiang Rai. Taught English to Thai children.  In 2016 - returned to YWAM to discipline and train others for same.

Autonomously managing a caseload of 25-30 tangata whaiora/clients, within legislative requirements of the Mental Health Act (MHA); providing ongoing education; home and community visits; nursing weekly depo-injection clinics; leading hui's for tangata whaiora's benefit; working with a large proportion of Maori families; working with MDT, Cultural assessment team, Mobile intensive team and Crisis team; liaising with a variety of community organizations; working with clients and whanau to explore non-medical interventions and activities that could benefit their health; and knowing when appropriate to seek senior advice and support.

Worked with a faith-based youth and community development organisation.  My role was to help facilitate and lead small groups, group activities and events. To create safe, fun activities and provide education to expose youth to new opportunities.  With the vision of building their mana, connection with others and the community, to support for a brighter future.

A NGO Maori Health Provider. Worked predominantly with Maori and those in hard to reach rural groups; rural workplace health checks; team-facilitated Kaumatua programmes within different marae's; worked within appropriate cultural norms and tikanga; worked autonomously with individual clients; co-lead a men's group health initiative. Other skills included - dressing changes, taking bloods, INR level monitoring, ear and throat examinations, diabetes follow-up, and basic sexual health education.
