As a qualified Mechanical Engineering Tradesman with six months of post-apprenticeship experience and a completed apprenticeship, I bring a strong foundation in mechanical fitting, shutdown maintenance, and project work. I’ve worked across several of New Zealand’s major heavy industrial sites, including chemical processing plants, fuel terminals, and power generation facilities. Key sites include Mercury Energy’s geothermal and hydro power plant, Oji Fibre Solutions’ Kinleith and Tasman Pulp & Paper Mills, Ballance Agri-Nutrients’ Super Phosphate and Sulphuric Acid Plants, Terminals New Zealand, Bakels Edible Oils, and Fulton Hogan’s Bitumen Plant.
I am well-versed in working under strict permit-to-work systems and high-risk controls, including confined space entry (air-fed and BA), EWP operation, working at heights, hot work, and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) isolation procedures.
I am a well-rounded, skilled tradesman with broad capabilities in general fitting, machining, fabrication, and welding. My experience has equipped me with the ability to perform fault finding, equipment strip-downs, overhauls, alignments, valve maintenance, and mechanical installations in high-risk, high-pressure environments. I have a solid understanding of plant systems and processes and a proven ability to work effectively in remote or challenging site conditionI pride myself on being safety-focused, adaptable, and a reliable contributor to any maintenance or shutdown team, making me well-suited for mining roles.
