  • Enhancing the peer support self-efficacy of student leaders in schools throughout Canterbury. In this role, I focused on enhancing the peer-support self-efficacy of student leaders to facilitate connections with younger students.
  • This involved facilitating three workshops at the start of the school year and returning to the schools 1-2 times per term to provide supervision to the student leaders, known as Maanaki Connectors
  • My responsibilities included organizing and coordinating with schools and administrative staff and Working closely with student leaders to support their personal development as effective Connectors
  • This role required strong organizational skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with educational institutions, all while adhering to the standards and objectives outlined by the government health board contract.

Crisis Counselling

  • Over the past year and a half, I have dedicated approximately 3 to 9 hours per week to providing short-term crisis-based counselling to Rangatahi throughout New Zealand
  • I have delivered support via text, email, web chat, and phone calls, effectively managing and mitigating high-risk situations such as suicide attempts, panic attacks, and matters involving care and protection.
  • My training in strength-based and client-led counselling methodologies has equipped me with the skills to offer empathetic, client-centered support.
