I grew up in a small rural town town called tokaanu, on the Southern shores of Lake Taupo. and yes, I had an amazing childhood raised by a village of people apart from living with cousins, Koroua, Kuia and Pakeke. , life on the Marae and catching beat up buses to go to school. What a stark difference and landscape for Rural communities now. It is extremely hard for our Rangatahi and Whanau without those values of caring, loving kindness for each other, the enviorment that provided kai, been rich and living on an oily rag.
