Hi, my current situation is that I'm a single father of 3 children aged 12,14,17. In the past I was trained as a chef and spent many years in the restaurant business. Having started a family found cheffing was not conducive with this and so had the opportunity to work on a family dairy farm and moved up the ranks from assistant to farm ownership. An opportunity arose that I could purchase a cafe and go back into the kitchen and then after 4 years my domestic situation changed and found that farming was something that I enjoyed more than the heat of the kitchen. In the last 18 months I have been able to work on a dairy farm for a friend and get reconnected with a farming lifestyle.
Staff Management
undefinedFirstly having completed a chef degree, I have worked in a number of successful restaurants in New Zealand and in England. Following on from that having worked as an assistant on a dairy farm I worked up to farm ownership. Moving on and back to owning a cafe I build the business up to a point where I could sell the cafe part off retaining the coffee roasting section which has recently been recognised by receiving a number of medals at an award presentation.
