As an accomplished classroom teacher and results-driven Assistant Principal, I bring experience in driving individualised student growth through innovative and inclusive teaching practices. In pursuit of the school's mission, values, and strategic goals, I have consistently collaborated with fellow teachers, educators, and leaders to enhance educational opportunities for myself, my colleagues, and our students. In my current role as Associate Principal, I have proven proficiency in supporting teacher success through effective training and mentoring. As a key member of a collaborative senior leadership team, I have actively contributed to the achievement of Northcross Intermediate Schools strategic plan.


I am an aspirational leader with a research-informed approach, dedicated to aligning teaching practices with the school's vision statement of 'Individual growth through challenge and learning.' My leadership style emphasises genuine relationships and care with all members of the school and wider community, reflecting a commitment to pastoral care practices and a keen focus on curriculum development. Additionally, I am proficient in the analysis of student progress and achievement, ensuring that our teaching practices are tailored to each student's individual needs.

Associate Principal

  • Facilitated collaborative teaching in a modern learning environment with 5 other teachers and in 2024 and 6 others teachers.
  • Upskilled colleagues on the literacy progressions after identifying gaps in their knowledge of the progressions.
  • Worked with colleagues to un-pack e-asTTle reading data so they understood the assessment as a formative assessment tool not summative which lead to better informed teaching and learning.
  • Attended the Project Based Learning 101 (3 day online course), Project Based Learning 201 (3 day course in Dunedin) and 3 day session at Northcross at the start of 2024.
  • Have had previous leadership coaching with Mark Osborne and currently working on leadership with Jo Robson
  • 2024 Mentor Associate teacher for Kaajal Lal where I've been working with her and guiding her through the journey of a first year Associate Principal.
  • Enhanced school culture by implementing positive behaviour interventions and supports.
  • Established positive, stimulating learning environment for students and exciting education-focused setting for teachers, especially in the implementation of PBL.
