From New Zealand, I have assisted in two projects related to Cox’s Bazar refugee camp— the first was a conceptual temporary housing solution in collaboration with Regan Potangaroa that considered a prefabricated, lightweight steel frame which could be produced in New Zealand and shipped to Bangladesh. The second was in collaboration with Marina Drazbe who authored educational books promoting safety in design.
A research trip to Banda Aceh in a review of aid housing following the 2004 tsunami and assessing the performance of the Ramah Aceh, one of the best examples of vernacular seismic resilient housing.
