  • Worked safely in a team in high stress, hazardous, and dynamic environments to combat and control active wildfires
  • Safely performed all duties under difficult and hazardous conditions including inclement weather, steep / uneven terrain, extended working hours, extreme heat, heavy smoke, carrying over 40lbs of gear, etc
  • Routinely operated chainsaw on active fires to safely fell trees and cut brush. Performed daily maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Operated and maintained a variety of machines and tools to complete the job, such as portable water pumps, fire hose systems, handtools, radios, GPS, handheld weather devices, UTVs, and drip torches
  • Responsible for safely leading groups of 5-10 people in daily wildfire operations, which requires skilled communication, risk management, dynamic problem solving, and management of group dynamics and conflicts
  • Coordinated supplies, operations, and logistics on remote fires for 44+ people, including supply drops by helicopter
