Skills Learnt on the Job
Navdanya Biodiversity Farm
Uttarakhand, India
Feb-Mar 2025
This internship was facilitated through the Youth Initiative Program as part of the Global Internships Program. I interned at Navdanya Biodiversity farm in Uttarakhand, India. This 5 weeks was full of hands on learning about agro-ecology, traditional sustainable farming practices, seed saving, food sovereignty and eco-feminism. As interns, we both participated in hands on sustainable farming, working in the fields each day, we also took part in many workshops on soil health, traditional foods and seed saving taught by the passionate staff of Navdanya. I also helped to create some art work for a traditional foods vs processed foods conference held in our final week on the farm, and other illustration work for potential use in future books/events.
