  • Volunteering at the Stroke Club: Supports 25 stroke survivors through meaningful conversations, shared activities like walks and bowling, and small gestures like exchanging gifts. These experiences taught me the importance of empathy, adaptability, and holistic care in fostering connection and resilience. Witnessing their courage and strength deepened my passion for medicine, inspiring me to become a doctor who prioritizes compassion and patient-centered care.
  • Volunteers as co-founder of CircuLab: We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting environmental awareness, with a special focus on the circular economy model. Through our educational video game, CircuTale, and our paper saving initiative, CircuSaver, we aim to educate people about sustainable practices. With participation from over 20 schools across 9 countries, and partnership from the LearningPlanet Alliance, we have established a global network of change-makers. Our work has been recognized at events including the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum, Systems Change Summit and Catalysing Change Week.
  • Volunteering as a question-writer for the International Biology Bowl Competition: Writes ~100 unique Biology questions with group of 30, from university-level textbooks like Campbell's Biology, Molecular Biology of the Cell, and Vander's Human Physiology for use for the 4 Biology Bowls (IBB, ChinaBB, AsiaBB, USABB).
  • Volunteers as a school teacher to prepare high-school students for Biology Competitions: Having been the first to medal in Medicine Olympiad, wanted to increase NZ representation in Biology Competitions. Delivered learning modules on biology study strategies like mind-mapping and successfully prepared 22 students for future Biology Bowls through simulation quizzes to emulate competition day.
  • Volunteers as a Rotary Interact Club Vice President: Managing a 40-student club, raised $1800 for Wellness Charity via first ever Movie Night @ ACG; $570 for Cure Kids through Red Nose Day from Bake Sales; $800 dollars for the Elizabeth Knox Retirement Home and Hospital through organising myriad of bake sales; $500 dollars for Clean Water Charity (Kenya Beyond Waters) through lunchtime sausage-sizzles; Organised team of 10 for River Restoration Project, followed by a successful co-founding of new Restoration Club of 30 middle schoolers where lunches used to explain Nature articles to Grade 8-9 kids through weekly interactive presentations, while volunteering w/ group @ local environmental sanctuary.
  • Volunteers as Cultural Committee Leader for the School: Created & delivered 7 school-wide collaborative Cultural Food Sales across the year, each selling ~$500 + $400 raised from ticket sales; Led Cultural Week activities, dedicating each of the 5 days to a different culture(Scheduling & encouraging student music & dance performances to express culture like Chinese Guzheng or K-pop), researched Hindu traditions and established colourful Holi Festival celebrations(w/ spare white T-shirts & tubs of Mango Lassi). Headed La Tomatina celebrations(w/ red biodegradable balloons to reduce food waste), Chinese Lantern Festival activities (selling foods from 4 different provinces & mastering calligraphy), te reo Māori Language Week (performing short and sassy cultural activity video skits featuring teachers and peers of all cultural backgrounds, cultural dress-up w/ classmates), and Black History Month Activities (creating posters, murals, quiz battles w/ middle schoolers), and Māori & Pasifika cultural activities (organising niche sports like ki-o-rahi at lunch-time, and embracing traditions like poi making), all of which were for the whole middle school and senior school (~1000 students). Successfully integrated te reo Māori into the classroom through new language quizzes.
  • Volunteers as a Licensed Adjudicator in Debating: Licensed Adjudicator for ASD Junior Open; 18 in founded Weekly Mock Debate club & teaches debate principles. Provided a non-judgemental safe space for people to speak about their passions.
  • Volunteers as a letter-writer for Amnesty International. Holds a chapter at school. Fosters a supportive environment to enhance engagement in world issues.
  • Volunteers at a co-founded program connecting students from all across New Zealand to tutor students from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Volunteers at badminton program ran by church as coach. Works with kids who may not be able to afford badminton training on badminton techniques and strategies. Works to foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
