I’ve been involved in the forestry (establishment and silviculture) since 1983 mostly working for myself.
I feel I have the skills to manage workers and at present I am the manager of WAG 2020 ltd with a workforce of 50 plus. We have contracts throughout it New Zealand mainly in the Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay but have manpower here in Kaikohe.
We are based here in Kaikohe and are from here and have a vested interest in Kaikohe and its future.
I married Rose Wihongi, from Awarua in 1971 till 2018 when she passed away from sickness. We are the parents of 7 children.
Roslyn, a partner in a lawfirm in Kaikohe who has 2 children & 4 grandchildren.
Eldon, a contractor based in Awarua who has 4 children & 4 grandchildren.
Teahua, a teacher and current deputy principal at Kaikohe Intermediate school has 4 children and 1 grandchild.
Tommy, a contractor (Key grip) Auckland in the movie industry who has 3 children.
Hone, a FGC Coordinator for Oranga Tamariki based in Kaikohe has 5 children.
Erana, a homemaker and social work student from Massey University has 6 children.
Faith who is a legal executive.
We have 7 children, 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren in total
