3APlacement - 19/2/24 - 22/3/24. Acute Demand Team. 24 Hr Surgery Pegasus Health.

  • Visiting patient homes and spending days in clinic.
  • Focussed assessments on cardiac and respiratory health, specifically heart failure & COPD, and assisting with furosemide titration plans
  • Focussed assessments on Warfarin management and titrating daily medication with verbal orders
  • Administering IV antibiotics in clinic to patients with cellulitis
  • General wound care - cleaning and redressing. Assisting with debridement of wounds and debulking. Assisting with incision and drainage of abscess's and inserting wicks/packing the wound.


2B Placement - 11/9/23 - 27/10/23. General Ward. Te Nīkau Grey Hospital.

  • General medicine ward duties such as administering regular medication, taking observations, assisting with patient washes and personal cares.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation on paper charts
  • Liasing with other memebers of the healthcare teams such as doctors, surgeons, physio, OT, social workers.
  • Transporting patients to pre op, and from post op back onto the ward
  • Spending clinic days in the transfusions room learning about chemotherapy infusions, blood transfusions and assisting with them when appropriate and within scope.
  • Spending 3 days in the Emergency Department and learning how the department works, observing the different skills used there such as catheterisation, venepuncture, nebulising, casting etc.

  • Visiting patient homes to administer medications through IM route
  • Attending in clinic patient appointments for welfare checks or court ordered meetings
  • Meeting with patients for mental health check ins and having general conversations about their wellbeing

Personal Interests

In my spare time I enjoy gardening, reading, spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking, painting, swimming at the beach, and volunteering at Ronald McDonald House in Christchurch. I donate blood regularly and I love to take my puppy on walks through nature.
