Work History

Secondary School Teacher

Salesian School

On qualifying as a teacher, I quickly found a position at this prestigious school in Surrey, England. In my three years there, I fostered a positive classroom environment where students were supported pastorally and academically through engaging lesson plans and mentoring. Key achievements include:

  • Mentoring new teachers, providing guidance on classroom management and instructional strategies
  • Running school assemblies and acting as Deputy Head of Year
  • Implementing targeted interventions and new resources to improve essay writing, resulting in the Year 13 cohort being on track for the best subject results in recent years
  • Leading the Year 11 students to a Progress 8 score of 1.35, with 54% attaining grades 9–7 and 96% achieved 9–5, ranking the class in the top 5 across the school
  • Organising trips including university visits, theatre and school ski trips
  • Running extracurricular clubs including a weekly Card Club and the LGBT+ Safe Space Club for two years, fostering inclusivity and community
  • Leading professional development workshops focused on innovative teaching practices and methodologies

  • Within months, I achieved rapid business growth, securing hundreds of national and international orders from high-profile clients including actor Tom Felton.
  • I ran the business alongside my university studies, which really honed my time management and organisational skills.

  • During my time as a student, I delivered presentations and Q&A sessions to school and college students to give them a genuine idea of the whole university experience, from finances to subject-specific topics.
  • As well as hosting visits and conducting tours, I mentored students facing some form of challenge in life or academic study, with the aim of increasing applications and offer rates from under-represented target groups.

Colets Health and Fitness Club
04.2019 - 06.2021
