Gloria Vegar

I am energetic, positive and determined, and I enjoy working with people and being part of a strong
team. My previous work experience and personal sporting career has given me the opportunity to work
in three different countries. This has taught me the value of preparation, teamwork, resilience and
working towards a common goal. I would now like to apply those qualities in a role where I can
contribute to a team, support others and continue developing within this role.

The Washouse Group - General Manager, Laundromat Operations | Auckland | May 2020-February
2024
I managed the operation of 12 self-service Laundromats throughout the North Island, coordinating
staff, contractors, maintenance, suppliers and customer requirements. I recruited and interviewed
employees, introduced mentoring initiatives, maintained strong customer and supplier relationships
and managed multiple priorities across the business. The role developed my leadership, organization,
problem-solving and people-management skills.

Brand Ambassador | Auckland | April 2025-Present
I represent brands through promotional activities, events, product demonstrations and direct
engagement with the public. Working on numerous campaigns with Westfield, Destro, Rainbow
Rascals, and Mars United has given me a broad spectrum of experience in a variety of organisations.
These roles requires confident communication, a positive approach and the ability to connect quickly
with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

I am a former international and representative rugby player and captain with sporting experience
across Croatia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. I am now looking to bring my sporting
background, leadership experience, strong people skills and enthusiasm into a role.

I represented Croatia in international Rugby Sevens and captained both my national team and Mladost
Rugby Club. My rugby career also included London Wasps and competitive club and representative
rugby in New Zealand. These experiences gave me a strong understanding of teamwork, performance,
motivation, resilience and the positive impact sport can have on individuals and communities.
I remain highly active and committed to fitness and personal development. Alongside my sporting
experience, I bring professional strengths in leadership, staff mentoring, organization, customer
engagement, relationship building and managing teams and operations.
