I am an experienced Service technician with over 42 years experience as an electronic technician. Including 14 years as a supervisor of a team of successful engineers. Adept at managing and leading diverse teams to achieve exceptional service deliver. Ready to leverage expertise to drive operational success.
My beginnings in the NZ Army where I not only completed my Electronic Apprenticeship but also carried out training in a wide range of mechanical and welding courses helped develop an ability to adapt to many different situations and people. My last year in the Army I was a section leader running the electronic workshop and overseeing training for apprentices , This started my development as a leader and leadership skills.
I have spent over 30 years working with Quality systems Telarc and IANZ, the last 20 years as authorised representative for The New Zealand team and as technical supervisor for UV/VIs spectrophotometers for IANZ NZ.
I moved to Watson Victor where I began my career in the scientific and medical markets. I was involved in the repair and maintenance of Electro Medical equipment, general medical equipment, Physiotherapy equipment and a wide range of scientific equipment., I specialised in filter based NIR and ran Client courses on this.
Here I began my association with Quality systems and was a signatory for Telarc.
I then moved to Science and technology New Zealand as a sales engineer. Here I was responsible for maintenance of all equipment sold by Scitech and also some large projects where I developed some project management skills coordinating with sub-contractors and clients.
I carried out training in Flow Injection analysis, FTIR,
Auto Immunoassay equipment, Gastroscope Disinfection equipment and waste water treatment.
I then moved to Biolab/Thermofisher as a Field service engineer.
I started in a newlt created position in Christchurch with the task of building the Service business in my region.
I have completed training on a wide range scientific equipment over my 28 years at Thermo Fisher from basic laboratory equipment, Water systems, UV Vis Spectrophotometers and FTIR. I have managed large Conviron Projects which required coordinating with sub contractors and clients.
I have spent the last 13 years as a supervisor and a FSE, during this time I have kept a very stable and successful team. I have lead them by example and continue to coach them.
I became lead FSE for the Astea ERP. system we used and ran many trainings on this both Face to face and virtual.
I continue my association with quality systems here with IANZ signatory in Metrology and UV/VIS spectrophotometry, and over the last 20 years the Authorised Represenatative for NZ.
Skilled at training and mentoring field service personnel to troubleshoot and correct technical problems, consistently meeting or exceeding expectations. Well-versed in safety practices and gear, documentation requirements and compliance standards for Scientific industry.
