Summary

sKia Ora,

My background in the construction industry includes practicing as a qualified builder and construction manager, and now as a New Zealand Registered Building Surveyor with over 17 years experience in the NZ construction industry. More recently I have had over three years experience as a building consent processing officer. The combination of hands-on experience across multiple disciplines has given myself a unique and broad knowledge base of the NZ Building Code and construction techniques and technology in New Zealand. I have an astute architectural awareness and am able to design remedial solutions that are practically buildable and aesthetically pleasing. Key skills include assessing building work for NZBC-compliance, construction monitoring duties for recladdings and remediation projects, drawing and documentation peer review, expert witness duties in assessing and compiling evidence in support of construction defect litigation, commercial building compliance schedule assessment and on-site weathertight investigations and report writing. I have excellent interpersonal and organiational skills and I am able to effectively communicate within the construction industry across all levels without conflict. I have carried out a wide range of investigations on standalone residential dwellings, multi-storey residential and commercial buildings. My areas of expertise are in building defect identification, weathertightness, building remediation, building code and contract compliance. I am a weathertightness expert and provide services including forensic diagnostic investigations and reporting, expert witness representation, weathertightness remedial design and remediation site observation / contract administration.
