Kia ora team, I’m a third year apprentice with 5 years experience in the trade. Currently, I'm doing my onjob assessments with Te Pukenga and have completed my night classes for the REGs and theory exams at Weltec along with the Level 3 pre-trade certificate at Whitireia. I’ve worked in the Wellington region doing both new commercial and residential builds also recently commercial service and industrial relevant work as I'm hoping to get into the industrial industry in the near future. Currently I'm looking for a company capable of helping me complete my apprenticeship to keep moving forward in the industry.
The last 5 years I’ve worked on new and old renovations and so far my work involved Prewiring, running mains, data/ fibre, fit off security e.g intercoms, switchboards, common switch gear, indoor or outdoor lighting. LED, Iso kitchen controls, oven, hob, range hood and ducting for it. Majority of this has been working at Aoraki, Watt & Hughes and Holmes construction builds.
Electrical theory wise I've completed my pre-trade course and still fairly reliable understanding basic drawing schematics or figuring out customers needs for their engineers tender plans or site plans. As the years have gone by I'm becoming more familiar with the AS/NZ s3000/2007 standard. In terms of progress with the level 4 In 2022 I've completed the night classes for the REGS and theory exams like mentioned before. Recently I set the theory exam and will need to set again soon. I've invested on a lot on hand tools and power tools over the years so regardless of the task I'm usually well equipped with minimum used tools for residential, commercial and industrial work.
