  • Throughout my time at this store, I have worked individually in my own department but also with around 15 other colleagues in the store
  • While working here, there have been times where I would be the only Firearms Licence holder working and I would need to be responsible for opening up the store, managing the staff for the day and closing up the store at the end of the day, this involved managing around 6-8 staff members, making sure they have their jobs set for the day, whilst I also look after my own department
  • At the end of the day, all of the tills need to be cashed up and banking sorted for the next day as well as system back up for the day's sales

  • Sales - Having customers come into the store to ask me about our Firearms and Hunting products and confidently being able to give them the necessary information to help them with their inquiry
  • Ordering - Making sure all customer orders are dealt with as soon as possible, this involves finding the correct supplier and contacting them to make sure the product is in stock, and then ordering it for the customer. This needs to be followed through right until the customer picks the product up from our store, you need to liaise with the Warehouse Manager to check on its arrival and if the customer has been contacted etc
  • Firearms Sales - Ensuring that all Firearms Sales are dealt with correctly, this involves firstly checking their Firearms Licence to make sure it is valid before allowing the customer to hold the Firearm, then the correct paperwork needs to be filled out in the Firearms Register before allowing the customer to take the firearm home
  • I also had a big role in helping organise our stall at the Shot Show in March 2019, I helped the manager of our store organise suppliers, products, deals etc
  • Gained a huge range of product knowledge, from not only Firearms and Hunting related products, but also the rest of the products we offer such as Camping, Tramping and Fishing products
  • Educated clients on proper firearm handling, shooting techniques, and safe practices to minimize accidents during hunts.
