  • Provide expert advice and support, and act as the main conduit of information to staff in relation to all Academic Development processes, including Category 1-9, Category C and Suspension/Deletion proposals, as well as Graduating Year Reviews (GYRs).
  • Maintain the Academic Development Planning Guide, Category C Guide and related timelines and make changes to these as necessary.
  • Act as the University’s CUAP Co-Ordinator by managing the processes pertaining to the correspondence rounds and approval by the Universities New Zealand Committee on University Academic Programmes (CUAP) of Academic Developments.
  • Maintain the GYR guidelines and related timelines and make changes as necessary.
  • Provide support and guidance to academic staff and in undertaking GYRs and approve review panel members to ensure CUAP requirements are met.
  • Act as the University’s expert and co-ordinator for GYR related processes with CUAP.
  • Scrutineer GYRs from other universities, as assigned by CUAP.
  • Act as secretary to the Education Committee and Curriculum Committee, including provision of expert advice to Committee members in relation to academic planning requirements and processes.
  • Represent the Academic Office as a member on the University of Waikato College Academic Committee.
  • Act as the expert user and main contact for academic information for Academic Developments and GYRs on the Academic Office website.
  • Act as the University’s expert user and content manager for the CUAP Proposal Management System.
  • Maintain the universities programme review schedule.
