• I worked as a core midwife and provided complex care to women in the largest maternity setting in the South Island.
• I looked after women in the birthing suite and maternity ward from a pre-viable gestation to term.
• Experienced in caring for families in unique emergency settings.
• Supported the care of women who were transferred and retrieved from areas all over NZ.
• I worked with a high-level NICU team and liaised with leaders in all fields of medicine to develop a care plan for seriously unwell patients, and their families.

- In my Nursing/Midwifery graduate year I completed 6 months in Birth Unit, 3 months on the Posntal Ward and 3 months in the Emergency department

- Works within the midwifery scope of practice to provide care for women and their families throughout all stages of pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period

- Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve good outcomes in emergency settings

- Supports women in their breastfeeding journey

- Worked on the postnatal ward to support midwifery staff in caring for women and their babies

- Worked in the Special care nursery to support nursing staff in caring for unwell babies and their families

- Assisted in the Covid screening clinics during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Over 2000 hours of placement including

- A 2 Week cultural exchange at Shanghai University of traditional Chinese Medicine (2019)

- A rural midwifery placement in Tralagon VIC alongside Antenatal, Postnatal, Birthsuite and Extended Midwifery Care placements

- Placements in Geriatric, Surgical, Chemotherapy, Mental Health Inpatient, General medicine, Theatre, Renal Dialysis, Hospital in the Home areas in both private and public hospitals

- Assisted with general nursing care of elderly residents
