  • Self-motivated, self-starter, developed VSA's Hydrotherapy service from the opening day of business.
  • Responsible for the care and rehabilitation of small animal patients (predominantly canine) after orthopaedic and neurological injury. From post-operative stage to discharge from care, responsible for updating rehabilitation plans as appropriate, liaising closely with the wider hospital specialist teams such as surgical and internal medicine departments.
  • Worked effectively in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment, adapting role and changing daily schedules at short notice to accommodate urgent inpatients and referrals on a priority basis.
  • Skilled at working independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Able to ask for help on a project if needed as well as delegate to team members for optimal collaboration across the service.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations as challenges arise. Able to effectively utilise problem solving skills.
  • Developed all protocols and procedures for the Physiotherapy department, aligning with Health & Safety obligations.
  • Responsible for inducting new staff into the hospital, mostly for the Physiotherapy department but also assisting with induction of some nursing and reception staff as needed. Mentor for Junior Hydrotherapist.
  • Excellent communication skills: face-to-face and over the phone with clients, as well as effective written communication to referring veterinarians, veterinary specialists and stakeholders. Reports and system receommendations for NZ Police & NZ Customs Dog Units, VSA Board of Directors. Recommendations for insurance company policies (Southern Cross, PetCover) pertaining to inclusions of Physiotherapy treatment in policy updates.
  • Consistently worked with the best interests of the business and entire team in mind, upholding VSA's ethos of "Exceptional Care Together", along with our values of 'Manaakitanga', 'Kotahitanga', 'Haporitanga', 'Kaitiakitanga' and 'Matatautanga'.
  • Responsible to maintaining stock levels of Physiotherapy related product, as well as the sale of product to clients and veterinary clinics.
  • Event organisation: Annual VSA Conference "Winterfest" organising committee - venue, catering, speakers, charity auction items. Additional events such as VSA's presence at the New Zealand Veterinary Association (NZVA) conference and Auckland Pet Expo.
  • Responsible for VSA Social Media content - creating and scheduling content through platforms such as Later.
  • More recently, additionally taking on 'Marketing Assistant' tasks such as newsletter send out (MailChimp), organising of VSA Webinar Series (Teams) and assisting the Marketing Director with related tasks.
