I attended my first placements in Mental Health service this was my first practical learning being a Support worker in Mental Health. My experience here was different from what I learned in the past job and internship.

  • In addition I also met clients with Addictions issues with longer history of substance abuse. I learned about how they started, their current situation and how they are making a change to recover.

  • Personal care which I learned already from the previous internship but to make myself more confident to work on my own I gained some more knowledge from different senior HCA’s
  • Learned how to communicate with old age people usually it was not hard but it was challenging sometimes while dealing with old people particularly diagnosed with Dementia.
