Efficient and reliable with a great interest and willingness to learn about contemporary New Zealand art and artists. Life-long experience in classical music performance but am looking to explore the world of visual arts and art administration. I have a strong passion for communication and community engagement. I am eager to build connections between artists, clients and the wider community in Tāmaki Makaurau.
I currently teach the harp privately from my home in Pakuranga. Teaching provides me with the opportunity to tackle challenges which require creative problem-solving and adaptability.
Though I teach privately, I am also a part of a team of tutors that deliver free music lessons to tamariki within Otara as well as engaging with the community.
I am a casual harpist for the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. Often I will be playing second harp or filling in for community events that allow the community to engage more closely with music and the harp.
I keep myself quite busy as a freelance harpist. Organisation and adaptability is a must as the scope of what I could be doing differs one week to the next. One day you could be playing background music for a corporate event and the next you're on stage with Dame Hinewehi Mohi for the AMA's!
