Business Insurance Consultant

IAG New Zealand
04.2022 - Current

In my subsequent role as a Business Insurance Consultant, I elevated my responsibilities to cater to Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) clients. In addition to similar responsibilities as my previous role, this role demanded a higher level of complexity, requiring a profound understanding of each client's business and operational complexities.

In this role, I dealt with a range of insurance products, including Business Liability, Business Assets, Business Vehicles, Business Interruption, and Contract Works Insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-Depth Business Understanding: I worked closely with SME clients to gain an in-depth understanding of their business operations, enabling me to provide insurance solutions that not only safeguarded their assets but also contributed to the long-term success of their enterprises.
  • Project Contribution - Missing Payments Trial: As part of a strategic project, I played a crucial role in the "Missing Payments Trial." This project closely resembled a Churn process, and it was aimed at renewing and retaining business policies. By analyzing data and implementing proactive measures, we successfully re-engaged with clients to preserve and extend our business relationships.
  • Training Assistant: I also took on the role of a Training Assistant, actively participating in an 8-week virtual training program for new consultants. This hands-on involvement included providing training, mentorship, and support to ensure that our new team members were well-equipped to excel in their roles.
  • Dedicated Floor Support: Drawing upon my experience as an established consultant, I applied to be a dedicated floor support to assist in the onboarding of new consultants. This role allowed me to impart knowledge, share best practices, and provide guidance to the newcomers, contributing to a more efficient and cohesive team.

In this versatile role, I demonstrated my commitment to both enhancing client relationships and fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. My involvement in the onboarding process and training program showcased my dedication to the growth and development of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting Expertise: Proficiently underwrote Home, Contents, and Motor vehicle policies, adhering to established delegations and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Expertly conducted risk assessments when underwriting Home, Contents, and Motor vehicle policies, ensuring sound risk management practices were employed in policy issuance.
