QUALITY CHECKER , BARKERS , GERALDINE

Barkers
01.2020 - 02.2020
  • Inspected apricots with accuracy, reporting problems or defects quickly
  • Ensured I followed all rules and regulations in regard to factory safety, this involved wearing protective gear
when in the premises of the factory and maintaining excellent hygiene standards
  • Specifically, I worked with the fruit apricots this involved handling a semi-sharp tool to remove any stalks that
the fruit was brought in with
  • Followed strict safety measures in regard to being around heavy machinery
  • Majority of this work involved standing at a conveyor belt as the fruit passed by to a processor, therefore, it was essential that I maintained a swift pace in order to ensure that no stalks or stones entered the later processed fruit
  • Ensured that I was aware of my surroundings as there was frequent vehicles such as forklifts that would enter and exit the premises
  • Given the responsibility of becoming a quality checker, this involved taking samples of the processed fruit at the end of the production line, rinsing and checking it for any foreign matter such as stones or stalks
  • If I did find any unwanted matter in the sample I would then have to inform my supervisor and those on the production line that they needed to ensure they were checking all of the fruit that passed by
  • Recorded all findings so that the results could be presented in board meetings.
