Summary

I am a resilient with a strong passion for relationship cultivation, mentorship and team capacity building, influencing, supporting and empowering others to effectively deliver a service that improves the outcomes of our clientele and wider communities. I posses extensive leadership and technical experience obtained in the various roles I have worked in thus capable of motivating teams and developing staff in various areas. I am adaptable, resilient, empathetic, flexible, a fast learner, focused, analytical, with a commitment to delivering tasks at the highest professional standard.

I am a leader who takes to an inter-agency and collaborative approach, an approach that I believe is necessary to enable effectiveness within teams and across Government Departments and agencies. Given my diverse experience in various roles; people facing and leadership roles, I have been exposed to working in statutory organizations, places of detention/prisons, courts, youth justice, disability, mental health and addictions including residential treatment facilities for both youth and adults therefore gaining the much needed exposure to different policies and legislation including their impact on professional practice. I have also led teams during policy transitions including environmental/social changes as a result of COVID 19.

Outside work I enjoy spending time with my family and supporting my children with their sports and other activities. I love research and I also enjoy doing interior designing, flower making, baking and going to church.

Community Corrections Senior Practitioner

- Managing a case load of very high risk and complex needs clients.

- Providing the teams with expert advice on high risk clientele to support the teams to effectively assess risk and manage these clients.

-Training the teams in key risk issues such as, working with youth, mental health, child sex offenders, gangs including working responsively with Maori and other populations.

-Leading and planning prison releases for high risk clients.

-Developing and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders and other government agencies including local , Iwis, District Health Boards, non governmental agencies etc

-Writing pre-sentence reports including high court reports Parole Board reports and attending hearings and providing sentencing advice to courts and the Parole Board.

-Completing risk assessments and supporting the team with their caseloads and standards of practice.

-Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to share knowledge and seek advise in supporting high risk clientele.
