• Accountable for the governance, strategic direction and implementation, financial planning and the daily financial and operational management integrity of this volunteer lead Society.
• Chair of the Executive and the Management Committee, and member of several subcommittees.
• Board membership of the Antarctic Heritage Trust, the trust that was formed by the NZAS for the conservation Ross Sea historic huts.
• Designed and delivered a community outreach tour with the Antarctic Film Festival (films and speakers) that connected members and the public with Antarctica’s science, history, governance, climate realities and local speakers; we achieved 1,000+ attendees, strong regional media/social engagement, new memberships, repeat invitations, and showcased the Antarctic ecosystem (e.g., Antarctica NZ, AHT, Gateway Antarctica, IAC) with hands-on activations (ECW gear try-on). This is the catalyst for further local events. By invitation, seven Antarctic Film Festival events were held in Auckland and the New Zealand Maritime Museum as part of the Into Ocean and Ice exhibition.
• Tangibly revived member enthusiasm to undertake new initiatives, such as engaging different Treaty Nations to contribute to our Antarctic magazine, attendance of conferences, to raise our profile and network to strengthen our messaging.
• Engaged new young members/volunteers in the positions of Secretary, Membership Officer and digital marketing/newsletters.

• Responsible for the day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping and administrative processes of the organisation.
• This work is part-time, online, remote, and is highly reliant on an independent and professional approach to the job, while liaising and maintaining communications on a daily basis with the event and store staff, suppliers and the business owner.

• Organising a tour of the Antarctic Film Festival, speakers and other Antarctic experiences around the South Island – winter 2025.
• Expertise in membership management, constitution and strategy.

• Organisation and coordination of the club's canoe sprint teams for the seasons 2022 and 2023.

• Facilitated an enthusiastic and engaged group of seven members, including scientists, project managers, to develop a new strategic direction for the Society and become more engaged with the wider public and climatic topics.
• Consulted with the membership and members of the public via a survey.

• General Management Committee member on behalf of Outdoors Queensland, the outdoor recreation industry peak body.

• Responsible for delivery of the organisation’s requirements for: Accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax (GST and PAYG)
• HR cycle from recruitment and workplace induction to employment termination
• Health and Safety procedures and implementation, industrial relations / legislative changes and their implementations
• Systems, applications and IT support management and development, including business analyst role / process improvements
• Share Point document management, filing and library system redevelopment
• Liaising with team members, Executive Officer, board members, suppliers, customers, government agencies

• Elected as President when the organisation was facing a crisis with the erosion of events and high-risk conflicts of interest.
• Ensured the continuation of many existing events and established additional ones.
• Enjoyed leading a very positive, active Management Committee.

• Procurement improvement reviews and projects for the Queensland State Government Departments of Main Roads and the Department of Emergency Services, including in-depth analyses, consultations and evaluations and delivering procurement recommendations on organisational procurement structure, communication, systems, capability and strategies
• Whole of procurement market and data analyses for whole of government projects and for individual departments
• The kick-start of QBuild’s (Government Builder) procurement reform
