Hyeonjeong Kwon (Chris Kwon)

I am a passionate pharmacy student from the University of Auckland with an exceptional curiosity in clinical pharmacology and research. I value learning opportunities and strive to make the most out of them by being a fast and efficient learner. Having undertaken various group and leadership roles, I became aware of the importance of being a part of a larger collective mind to produce the best outcome. I want to pursue a pharmacy career within a clinical setting where my aspirations for learning and dedication to patient-centred care can contribute to delivering optimal health outcomes for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

2024 - Present  IPSF APRO Regional Projects Subcommittee

• IPSF is a leading global organisation for pharmacy students dedicated to improving global public health through information, education, networking, and professional initiatives.
• Working collaboratively within the Asia-Pacific Regional Office (APRO) team, I contributed to numerous events, including the Antimicrobial Stewardship Competition, Literature Review Competitions, Industrial Skills Event, and Podcasts.
• Balancing these responsibilities with university coursework allowed me to develop strong organisation and time-management skills.

2024 - Present  UoA BPharm Honours Class Leader

• Representing and leading pharmacy honours cohort and allowing more accessible communication between honours staff members and students.

2024 - Present  APSA IPSF Subcommittee

• Working alongside the 2024 IPSF CP and SEO to raise awareness of IPSF within APSA and to help manage the workload.

2023 -                 APSA Executive : IPSF Contact Person

• Acting as the liaison between IPSF and Auckland Pharmacy Students Association (APSA).
• Leading the 2023 APSA IPSF Subcommittee and allocating duties to each member
• Hosted multiple collaborative events with countries such as Australia. Singapore and the United Kingdom.
• Participating in APSA and IPSF meetings and preparing and submitting required documentation, including annual and activity reports.

2024                   IPSF APPS Official Delegate

• Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS) is an annual regional symposium for pharmacy students, focusing on enhancing clinical and industrial pharmaceutical skills, inspiring students about the role of pharmacists, exchanging international cultures, and strengthening international relationships among students.
• 2024 APPS is hosted in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I will attend as the official delegate representing the University of Auckland Pharmacy.

2023 -                 APSA Mentor

• Providing guidance and support, offering advice and resources to help mentees navigate academic and personal issues
• Facilitating open communication involving patience and empathy, allowing mentees to express themselves honestly and ask for assistance when needed
• Trust and rapport are built through regular interactions and genuine connections between mentors and mentees.
