Throughout my time working for Sustainable Taranaki I managed three different projects all related to conservation and sustainability in the Taranaki region.

Junction Zero Waste Hub Project Manager

• Co-ordinated waste minimisation related educational tours, workshops and events at The Junction Zero Waste Hub.
• Collaborated with businesses from the rural, construction and hospitality sectors as well as organisations and members of the public in Taranaki.
• Managed and trained educators and facilitators within the Junction Hub space to run educational events.
• Undertook comprehensive planning and reporting and budgeting of the Junction Zero Waste Hub project - Funded by the New Plymouth District Council.

Impact Youth Development Programme Facilitator and Project Manager

• Designed and facilitated a youth development programme for small, less privileged groups of youth aged 12-24, where conservation and restoration projects projects were used as a vehicle for youth development. The project was funded by the Ministry of Youth Development.

Waste Minimisation Behaviour Change Project Manager

• Worked with cafes, restaurants and supermarkets across New Plymouth to reduce single use coffee cups and takeaway food containers.
• Implemented a research phase.
• Released a large marketing campaign in collaboration with New Plymouth District Council.
• Worked with businesses to implement the again again reusable coffee cup borrowing system.

• Teaching Zero Waste Education programme in Primary Schools around Bay of Plenty and Ruapehu Districts.
• Teaching the Tauranga City Council fresh water education programme in Intermediate, Primary, and Pre Schools.
• Community education around water and the environment at public engagement expos.
• Running community worm farm workshops.
• Redesigning Zero Waste Education Resources and lesson plans (particularly around rural waste minimisation).
• Training new educators to teach the Zero Waste Education programme.
• Event waste management.
• Waste auditing.

• Yacht mainly based in Sydney, cruising up and down the east coast of Australia.
• Captain of 30ft chase boat.
• Passage planning.
• Navigational watches.
• Maintenance of vessels.
• Updating safety management and medical systems onboard.
• Caring for guests and their young families.

• Cruising Mediterranean, Bahamas, Caribbean, Florida, Two Atlantic crossings.
• Covered over 12,000 sea miles.
• Navigational watches.
• Passages as captain on 38ft chase boat.
• Driving and maintaining tenders.
• General deck maintenance.
