Ortolana, Savor Group Ltd
02.2023 - Current
  • After having recently travelled parts of New Zealand & Australia, I decided upon applying for the savor group company in Auckland due to their positive reputation in the heart of the CBD and the abundance of growth opportunities within the company itself.
  • Starting out as a waiter, I began to see a clear level of professionalism in the venue of where I was working
  • Having the experience under by belt, having spent several years in hospitality prior to coming out to new Zealand made the transition simple and I felt at ease.
  • Working a rotating roster has been something I have been flexible and comfortable with, either working early morning shifts, night time shifts or split shifts.
  • Taking on the responsibility of full time Barista also furthered my experience, dealing with high volumes of coffee orders within a short space of time, maintaining high quality throughout.
  • Becoming more confident and independent with my own abilities and knowing my limits has allowed me to control areas of the shift during a working day, whether that be stock control, managing reservations or helping the team with daily tasks.
  • I also now have a greater understanding of working in a bar, from cocktail making to working private functions for big companies. I also have an improved level of understanding for the variety of wines available and the tasting notes that come alongside these.
  • Savor Ltd has allowed me to experience hospitality at a higher level, and has enabled me to become more comfortable with the responsibilities that come alongside the role. Through this, I have attained both my LCQ and Manager's License Certificates. I have been in the managerial role since August 2023, and have continued to adapt and grow during this time. I believe i have the correct attributes of being a Duty Manager and have the confidence to provide the best service, alongside managing other staff members. I have proven my dedication to the company through this role and it has been fulfilling.

Barista/Waiter/Duty Manager

Kalos Bar & Restaurant / Café On Water Lane
04.2021 - 12.2022
  • During my employment at Kalos Bar & Restaurant (Cafe on Waterlane) in Wilmslow, I furthered my experience in the world of hospitality
  • As a front of house waiter, I grew in condence and adapted to dierent roles within the business
  • I am fully trained on the bar, working as a barista and waiting on, on the restaurant oor, allowing me to be able to show others how to best full their role during service and this has enabled me to grow in condence and obtain a level of responsibility that is required during every shift
  • Working both long and short hour shifts, including working full-time, has allowed me to learn the various expectations when working a full day in hospitality, where no day is the same My interaction with both colleagues and customers has broadened my social skills and has allowed me to achieve the best during service
  • Engaging with customers from around the world has also inspired my ambitions of being able to travel and utilise my skills in various job roles
  • Although staying focussed and driven is the main priority of my intentions, whatever workplace I am in, enjoying what I am doing is a very important aspect of the role I am fulfilling, and this is what makes the job more worthwhile
  • I also managed the café, from producing weekly rosters, maintaining stock orders, cashing up, carrying out closing procedures as well as organising events and promotions
  • This enabled me to take on further responsibilities and act as a duty manager on shift.

Crown & Conspirator
09.2020 - 04.2021
  • Whilst working at the crown and conspirator in Bramhall I gained such a knowledge and understanding of the effort levels and standards that need to be met both before, during and after service
  • I worked front of house waiting on and developed a range of skills that have helped me know how to make customers feel as welcome as possible and deliver the best standards I could give during their visit to the pub
  • I showed versatility and determination and I always strive to the best of my ability to get tasks complete and have fun whilst doing it
  • Interacting with customers and colleagues is something I enjoy, being able to present a friendly and bubbly persona of myself and the company during every shift possible
  • I strive to achieve the best possible and am hardworking whilst doing so.

Cafe Assistant

Earlams
04.2018 - 03.2020
  • Initially, I volunteered at Earlams cafe as part of my bronze Duke of Edinburgh award scheme in 2017 and then continued my work experience throughout the year
  • The following year, I was employed to work there on a weekend and worked since
  • Throughout my time at Earlams, I have gained skills in social interacting which has ultimately given me huge confidence as well as being able to work a part of a team
  • Whilst working there, I could do any role within the cafe or shop, mainly working within the cafe cooking or preparing breakfast and lunch, serving on the till and cleaning up and using the dishwasher
  • Over the years, I became extremely involved with the Earlams community and hence feel that I am a sufficient and hardworking employee to have
  • I strived to please all customers so that they left the cafe feeling 100% satisfied and content with the service at Earlams
  • I learnt a lot from Hygiene and health & safety to adapting to machinery and equipment, something an employee needs to be aware of when in the workplace
  • Not only have I gained the knowledge and understanding of how to work in an environment like a cafe, but I have made relationships with customers that will last
  • By experiencing regular customers come in weekly, it helped boost my confidence and reminded me of why the workplace can be such a fun and exciting place to be as well as a working hard one.
