I am 21 years old, I would like to work outdoors and be hands on. I am friendly with an enthusiastic and helpful attitude. I am competent in managing day-to-day tasks and am pro-active in finding work to do. I am reliable, honest and easy going and happy to work in a team environment as well as by myself in an autonomous role. I pride myself on being a good guy.
I worked for one week in Dairy Flat doing Landscape gardening. I was shoveling mulch and distributing it over the clients gardens. I worked in a team and also independently.
I was a labourer for Carl Mason Builders. I worked during the school holidays. We were renovating an apartment and I operated a cango hammer and undertook general labouring duties including demolition work.
I worked for Emirates Team New Zealand during the 36th Americas Cup. I worked for the hospitality team looking after the exclusive sponsors and suppliers. I was responsible for loading the spectator fleet of boats (x3) and the team chase boats with food and beverages for each race day, amongst other duties as a general runner. I also helped to host the guests in the hospitality lounge (we hosted up to 400 guests a day) and helped escort them to the boats, including small groups to the team's VIP superyacht. I met and interacted with many different people, from the Coach of the All Blacks to the families of the team. This was a great experience because I learnt important time management and communication skills that will help me in life and with future jobs.
I worked for a transportable housing company called ECOPOD, I was a casual doing general laboring which included being responsible for using the drop saw to cut all of the walls and rafters which had to be accurately cut. I was also left to do this independently and always met the quality expectations. I also cleaned up the site and was an extra pair of hands helping everyone out.
I am currently working at Countdown as a deli assistant where I carefully prepare orders by slicing, weighing and packaging cheeses and meats and accurately calculating prices and open new inventory and rotated stock by dates to maintain freshness. I pride myself to always greet customers in a warm, happy and helpful attitude and also to always maintain a clean, rubbish-free environment to maximize productivity and safety.
I am currently working as a greenskeeper while also training in my level 3 apprenticeship. I have been working there for the past two and a half years and have learnt many valuable skills, such as being punctual for our 6:30 a.m. start, having a strong work ethic, and having high standards for myself. I have also enjoyed learning about taking care of the different turf species and how to look after them and being apart of a team.
Teamwork - I worked in a group of eight people at ETNZ hosting sponsors and suppliers I enjoyed working with the group to make sure the guests had a good time We also fitted in with the rest of ETNZ which has a total number of 120 team members altogether There were other times where I had to help the Base manager with jobs on the forecourt
Fast Learner - In my labouring job with Carl Mason Builders, I quickly learnt how to use the Kango hammer which I have never used before I also had to learn very quickly my way around the ETNZ base which has high security
Computer Design - I did some photoshop work at ETNZ for a team newsletter, and I used photoshop in my graphics course at school I also enjoy using it at home in my spare time, creating posters
