Jack Millar

Summary

I am a Year 2 Engineering student at the University of Auckland. Last year I was part of the university Formula SAE Team and finished with a GPA of 7.0. More recently I achieved a GPA of 8.0 for semester one, 2024. During my time at school I helped run the Academic Council, Curling, and was also a team leader of the Mt Albert Grammar School (MAGS) Robotics club. In year 13 I was a school prefect and was awarded the MAGS Engineering Scholarship. Some previous achievements at school were achieving with Excellence at NCEA levels 1, 2 & 3, been awarded a blue cap for Curling, receiving a school service lion in 2022, first in technology product design (2021, 2022) and the Hanson Cup for Progress and Endeavor (2021). Previously I have been part of the North Harbour Radio Controlled Car Club Committee which has given me valuable experience when working with others in a formal and professional environment. I am also currently developing security devices to help prevent TV theft, these are being tested in The Warehouse stores and this has given me valuable experience in designing, prototyping, and testing.

  • This role has improved my customer service skills and well as my ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Kept outdoor spaces looking clean and inviting with regular removal of leaves, sticks and other debris
  • As well as water-blasting the area around and inside the Swim School and cleaning windows
  • Helped when Swim School was closed during school holidays to repaint, inside the Swim School and outside.
