A part of an apple thinning crew for a month, required a high work ethic, perseverance, patience and concentration as it can be a tedious job spending long hours in the orchards. It also required good teamwork and social skills working with peers for these periods. Apple thinning can also be physically demanding in the heat, bending over, going up and down ladders as well as moving them along the rows. As well as a high attention to detail making sure you don's miss any bunch's pr leave too many or too few apples on the branch.

My role at the electoral commission included being in charge and leading/guiding others on the set up and preparation of several voting stations for the NZ election in the days leading up to the election. It also included collecting many of the votes from stations all around Hawke's Bay that were being delivered. My role was unloading these vehicles and organising these votes into the stations they came from and separating the different types of votes. The job required discretion and professionalism as it was dealing with votes that could be crucial to the outcome of the election. It also required efficiency whilst maintaining a high quality standard, the job was physically demanding and required a level of strength carrying boxes up and down multiple floors for several hours.
