I am a hard working, easy going and motivated person with experience in interpersonal mentoring and coaching. I enjoy working and have experience working with a wide variety of ages in forward facing roles. I bring maturity and a good work ethic to anything I am involved in.
In this position I worked with new students entering the college, acting as a guide and role model. I spent time with a group of students each week working on various skills such as problem-solving, conflict resolution and adaptability. I attended their school camp to support and assist with activities.
As a senior student I taught and organised Theatre sport sessions for a variety of students aged between 11-15 years old. I created a fun and engaging environment for creative expression. This experience taught me to develop strong rapports with the younger students I taught and they often returned to be coached in subsequent years, some even returning to assist as coaches. I learned valuable skills on how to retain the interest and attention of these students.
Worked alongside Adult volunteers to facilitate and organise weekly Scout meetings and activities for children ranging in ages between 6-14 years. This experience taught me great skills in working with young people in an engaging and positive way. I also learnt a variety of useful first aid skills.
I participated in a community outreach programme where we cooked meals to be provided to families and individuals who were struggling such as homeless shelters. I would spend a few hours each week cooking meals to be distributed among those who needed it. I learned to make large amounts of healthy and nutritious food and really enjoyed making a difference in my community.
