Jake McNally

I started with Kinetic as a 3rd year apprentice and qualified with them within a year, when they employed me as a tradesman. With Kinetic I have been on a wide range of other industrial sites to complete many large scale industrial jobs, being now apart of the On-Call roster, being called out to various jobs.
Some of the jobs I have worked on include:

• Refurbishing Pan Pac after flood damage from the cyclone, replacing 50 year old equipment and cables
• Mr Apple where I participated in the reinstall of their outside and inside apple intake conveyor system.
• Hawkes’ Bay Protein is a site that I have been on at multiple occasions for minor and major changes to the facility. It is a common site to be called out to
• Rockit apples which was undergoing an overhaul of their storage area and processing floor
• T&G was completely new build where we installed and connected up their finishing line packing area
• At Portside I was sent solo to assist with their team of sparkies to install the new docking system which included wiring to their new MoorMasters
• A Dairy farm out in partoka I have had multiple callouts to fix their cow milking gate, and replace old and water damaged equipment
• I also was apart of the Centralines Waipukurau build of their new location, installing cable tray and running cables with the use of EWP's
• In the Kinetic workshop I have worked with the team to build new Switchboards and control cabinets
• In Havelock north I have been apart of the Rymans healthcare construction of their retirement villages
• As part of the on-call I have fault found in many situations both domestic and industrial, striving for safe and fast restoration of electrical systems

I apprenticed at Pan Pac after swaping positions with one of their apprentices, as a chance to get some industrial knowledge and their apprentice could get some commercial experiance. I spent a lot of my time replacing worn components & doing preventative maintenance. This included

• Installing a new conveyor to bridge between two of the finishing lines
• cleaning and replacing components on brush motors
• VSD sizing and replacing
• Installing and replacement of faulty motors.

I spent two years at Gemco where I was exposed to new commercial builds which included:

• Hastings municipal theatre, installing high lights and working with historic architecture that couldn't be damaged in construction
• Mary Doyle retirement home, where we catered changes to the residents needs and installed various safety equipment for the elderly residents
• Kaweka Hospital, where I managed other apprentices, running cables and catneries back to local switchboards and main cables back to the main switchboard
• Construction of a mansion in Haumoana, where I was introduced to some unique and high end electrical solutions

This was my first job in the electrical field, as an apprentice under ETCO.

• Worked under supervision of journeyman electrician to learn trade and develop electrical knowledge.
• Gained proficiency in operating various power tools such as drills, saws, crimpers, and wire strippers for efficient completion of electrical tasks.
• Understood and used proper tools and equipment to install and maintain electrical systems.
