Work History

Advisor 2

KPMG
06.2023 - Current

Finance function role where a majority of my role is on 2 large entities (11 million plus revenue) where I worked on their monthly processes from start to finish. My jobs were all complete using xero, excel and taxlab.

  • Bank reconciliations done in a manner which kept the accounts clean each week (and any support attached)
  • Accounts receivable was a key task for one of my clients which is an insurance company that receives most of its income from levies so invoices were to be made in a timely and accurate manner
  • Accounts payable where I am paying the vendors and suppliers on behalf of the client was made more efficient through new processes I introduced through keeping up to date with xero/excel software
  • Other general tasks included IRD compliance including GST, FBT, GMD and board WHT returns. I also did monthly reporting and summaries for the accounts which was presented in a way for the client to understand.

Financial Advisory Intern

PwC
11.2022 - 02.2023

Dealing with a majority of tax compliance for my clients who were mainly NZ based.

  • GST/FBT returns filed dependant on the client file dates. Key part of this was calling the IRD each day for a multitude of clients which helped boost my conversation skills as a whole in a professional environment
  • Exposure to tax lab, excel, and xero and understand how I can use these software with each other through importing and exporting data
  • Key role in a fixed asset register job which estimated me about 50% of my time as an intern. Also helped recover much of the time as my charge out rate at the time was lower than my senior
  • Had received an offer for a graduate role but had decided to move back to Wellington to be with my family.

Bakery Clerk

New World

Focus on making sure the bakery was topped up, looking good, and dealing with customer queries relating to the bakery.

  • Conversing with customers over the counter and giving advice if needed relating to the bakery
  • Managing stock-taking of the bakery and ordering goods through various vendors to meet expected sales targets on a week by week basis
  • Keeping the bakery looking pristine and clean to present a good impression on the customer.
