Skills And Expertise

I am a natural leader and gravitate to positions that allow me to influence, facilitate and guide. At the Treasury, I have successfully managed teams advising the Government on fiscal, macro, and micro-economic issues. I have led advice on a diverse range of matters and effectively represented the Treasury in many different forums. I am curious, enjoy being challenged, and have stretched myself by actively seeking out leadership opportunities in challenging areas including freshwater policy, Māori rights and interests, and Reserve Bank reform. In my legal career, I led large multi-jurisdictional transactions and had complete project management responsibility., I am an excellent oral and written communicator. I have advised ministers and clients on complex matters and have received praise for being able to break down complicated issues in ways that are easy to understand. I am a confident public speaker and have often presented at seminars, hui, and stakeholder events., I take a strategic approach to problem solving, and am able to think creatively about policy advice. My work to date has required me to advise on a broad range of economic, fiscal, public policy, legal, and commercial matters. My participation on external and inter-agency working groups has given me exposure to complex issues and diverse perspectives on matters affecting society. This experience has taught me how to think broadly about policy issues, and make connections across different areas and stakeholder perspectives. High pressure work environments have honed my prioritisation skills and ability to anticipate problems in advance. I am also deeply reflective, and regularly assess my performance, seek feedback, and look for ways to improve., I have a reputation for working extremely hard. I am sought out because people know that I can be relied upon to complete a project in an efficient way and to a high standard. I am also chosen to take on 'problem' matters involving difficult personalities or complex issues. I perform well under pressure and frequently deliver within tight deadlines.
