Parsons Construction
McMurdo Station Antarctica

Currently at McMurdo Station working on the construction of the new lodging building. This is proving to be a great experience where I am learning a lot of new skills with the American wiring systems. Working along side our large construction crew I have been and will be working on all electrical components of the build, from the initial running of electrical conduits and support systems, the running of cabling and the final fit off of the plant rooms, living areas and bedrooms.

I have been lucky enough to have spent 13 months living and working at Scott Base Antarctica.

As the sole electrician on Scott Base over the winter season my role was to maintain and improve all electrical equipment on base, from the supply generators and wind turbines, UPS battery backups & fire systems, to the heating, lighting and everything in between. This amazing and unique experience demands great physical and mental strength as well as strong practical and social skills.

Electrician

Laser Electrical

02.2008 - 07.2023

I am thankful to have gained experience in most fields of the electrical trade during my 15 years working for this company. Specializing in industrial and commercial situations, be it fault finding breakdowns in cowsheds, general maintenance in water bottling plants or complete installation of new plant or equipment on Fonterra sites. I have spent the best part of 10 years working on Fonterra dairy factory sites and managing projects of all sizes with a crew of tradesmen and apprentices working under me.
