I'm a personable and outgoing person and believe I would be beneficial to any business. Known for my friendly demeanor, effective communication, and ability to collaborate seamlessly with diverse teams, I excel in fostering a positive and inclusive work environment and have strong attention to detail and set high standards for myself. I thrive under pressure and excel in fast-paced settings, which is displayed through my kitchen experience over the years. I can work with anyone and can pick up new skills easily. Over my time at high-school and first few years at University I have gained strong leadership positions. As the Cumberland College 2022 President, within the Wellington College Rowing Senior leadership team, peer support tutor and Wellington College runathon team leader. My work experience caters to a wide range of roles, where I am punctual, presented well and always complete tasks to the best of my ability. I am eager to leverage my expertise and personable nature to contribute to a team. In my spare time I am an eager keen sports player and fan, where I love playing golf, rugby, skiing, cricket, rowing and skiing.
In a high pressure kitchen environment, where I am a part of a close knit team and work in busy high pressure situations. I prepare, work service, clean and organise the larder section of the kitchen.
Worked under well known Chef Mark Hardstonge, where I was a key member of his team in large functions and meal services, always maintaining the highest quality. The job taught me valuable kitchen etiquette and practises and I was forced to work efficiently in a high pressure environment.
This job also taught me the necessities of food hygiene and sanitation. Aswell as time management and working in a high pressure environment.

To whom it may concern,
James McDonnell was employed at The Wellington Club during his holiday break from university over the Christmas period of 2023. James was employed as a commis chef. James’s duties included assisting in food preparation, plating and sending large cocktail parties, set menus + formal dinners.
James had little experience when he joined us but has great passion for food and he very quickly became a key part of our team over this period. He was able to be shown how to do something once and left to complete a task without supervision to the standard required. James was always punctual, respectful, well groomed and followed food safety protocol.
I would not hesitate in recommending James for further employment and we would like him to join us over his holiday breaks in the future.
