Position: Maintenance Co-ordinator!
At Progressive Meats a toll processing Beef and Lamb slaughter, boning, cool store,
manufacturing and export processing facility employing over 400 staff.!
James Peni work included, but was not limited to:!
• Attending daily management meetings to discuss what call-outs, breakdowns and downtime
have occurred in the past 24 hours and what risks and work need to be planned and executed
in the next 24 hours.!
• Planning and executing weekly mini shuts. Prioritising work with management, organising parts
and people resources to complete agreed work plan in available downtime windows. Plant does
not have an annual shut therefore weekend mini shuts are critical for scheduled maintenance
programs to provide plant reliability. !
• Weekly preventative maintenance checks. Resourcing and coaching team of mechanical
technicians to complete greasing, servicing, compliance and maintenance checks, review
findings and provide recommended actions.!
• Single point of contact 24/7 cover for plant mechanical breakdown repairs. First responder for
mechanical breakdown support.!
• Reviewing and ordering critical spares for site.!
• Attended RCA meetings (problem solves) as mechanical and maintenance engineering
representative. Working through fish bone and five why processes, taking planned actions to
defect eliminate operational and engineering problems through to root cause, so they do not
reoccur.!
James Peni has been a key stakeholder in the performance and improvement of plant uptime
from 80% to 95% over the past 12 months. With an eye for identifying faults, and process issues,
he reports and executes repairs in a timely fashion. James has the agility and ability to prioritise
correctly what steps to take to minimise plant downtime. Taking ownership and providing
