Summary

I am an enthusiastic educator with 9 years of experience across Primary, Intermediate and High School settings. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts: Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) from the National Academy of Singing And Dramatic Arts in 2010, I spent a year acting in educational shows around Aotearoa. This sparked my passion for education, leading me to complete a Diploma in Education at the New Zealand Graduate School of Education in 2013.

Throughout my career, I have enjoyed the challenge of wearing many different hats and taking on new roles to constantly be growing and learning as a kaiako. I've held the Head of Arts position while working at both Pembroke and Dominion Rd Schools. My positive attitude and knowledge of the NZ curriculum have also seen me guide many beginning teachers and teachers in training through their beginning years in education. In these management roles, and as a classroom teacher, I was required to be a compassionate, creative and effective communicator. I have valuable experience in classroom administration, professional development and event planning, being proficient in all Google Workspace Apps (Google Docs, sheets, slides, etc). Diligent and adaptable, I can manage multiple priorities with a positive attitude.

I have been lucky enough to spend the last year at home soaking up memories with my two children Lilly (1) and Otis (4). I am now ready to re-enter the workforce and pursue my passion for education outside of the classroom. Transitioning away from The Wiggles to embrace new professional challenges.
