Summary

To genuinely make a difference in football and sport. After a 20year career in IT, in 2008 I left London to begin a new life journey to New Zealand. Its, at this point that I decided that working in Sport’s coaching and Management was for me. In the proceeding years I have risen through qualifications and experience to have become a coach who is recognised in the ‘Elite’ category by New Zealand football. This has enabled me to coach at National Talent Centres and National Age Group tournaments and subsequently led to me becoming a coach educator for NZF in the Junior and Youth in the community space. My previous roles have included working in professional football at New York Red bulls, more recently I have filled positions as the Director of football at Green Island and Football Development Manager at Queenstown FC. I have also been the Head Coach Men both at Green Island FC and Queenstown FC in the Southern National League. My most recent position is as founder/ Director of my own football and sports business The Whitmarsh Academy in Queenstown and Central Otago. These experiences have provided me valuable insight into working and managing different types of people and different ways of working. These roles have included managing and running their Senior men’s environment and planning for the season campaign. Additional responsibilities included being responsible for the whole junior club supporting 300+ children and mentoring and developing coaches. In 2018 using the experiences and knowledge I gained, I created The Whitmarsh Academy in Queenstown. Initially an advanced training program (TWA), this has subsequently expanded and developed into Queenstown and the wider Central Otago’s biggest football and multi sports company. Our programs range from 3 years of age through to Youth including our volunteer work with the Wakatipu High School girls. We also send teams to Internationally recognized tournaments, such as Christchurch Cup. I have built up good working relationships with Schools, both primary and secondary, local clubs, Event Centres and federations over the years and believe I am somebody who has earned the communities respect through both my professional way of working and my ability to act with integrity at all times.
