I am an experienced curriculum leader with over 18 years in secondary education, including five years as Head of Technology. I have a proven record of leading curriculum and pedagogical innovation, including the introduction of Multi Tech (now Maker Tech), organising and running a Year 10 Across-Technology project, and the design and implementation of the Design and Innovation and Contemporary Innovation hubs in the school’s junior learning hub model. I am skilled in building collaborative teams, mentoring staff, and aligning programs with strategic goals. I have extensive involvement in NCEA assessment as a marker, check marker, panel leader, and as a member of the DVC Subject Expert Group. I hold a Master of Applied Practice in Applied Practice with research into multi-age learning environments. I am a strong communicator committed to equity, cultural responsiveness, and fostering excellence for all learners.
Sharing Skills - I have presented at NZGTTA conferences in 2019, 2021 and 2024. I have also presented at the recent NZGTTA, DTTA shared mini conferences around New Zealand in 2025.
STEM Course - Participation in NZ Defence Force run School to Seas/School to Skies program Jan 2025.
Junior Hubs - Part of the pilot program for the junior hubs at HGHS and I am passionate about the possibility of integrating the curriculum areas through these.
Continuation of my education - I was part of the first Hawke's Bay intake of the Mind Lab post graduate course in contemporary and collaborative learning and continued on with my study to complete my masters degree in applied practice.
