Summary

I currently work part time (27hrs) as a Peer Support Worker at Walsh Trust. Walsh Trust is an independent charitable trust that provides community based mental health and addiction support as well as residential services in West Auckland. During my time at Walsh, I have worked in Awhi Ora community supports, worked closely with primary care clinics supporting Whaiora, connecting them with appropriate supports in the wider community, meanwhile building rapport and valued relationships with both stakeholders and the community. More recently I have worked in Sustaining Tenancies (a govt led initiative run by HUD to reduce and prevent homelessness in the community and to support families to retain their tenancies). As a Well-being Facilitator I manage a caseload focused on providing peer support to Whaiora experiencing mental illness and addiction, supporting those people to create and achieve their goals, with peer minded - (walk along side approach) building strong relationships underpinned by our values of Kindness, Respect, Mutuality, partnership, and empathy.

I am a dedicated and adaptable professional with a proactive attitude and the ability to learn quickly. Strong work ethic and effective communication skills. Eager to contribute to a dynamic team and support organizational goals.
