Summary

Between the roles I have had in both trades and hospitality over the years, I have gained a wealth of communication skills and confidence. Confidence in both my work ethic and product knowledge. I pride myself on my ability to learn new skills and complete tasks assigned to me. Through my previous leadership roles I have honed my time management skills and ability to teach, through my apprentice roles I have honed my ability to follow instruction and learn new skills. I am now ready to make a move to a new role which will both challenge and reward me.

  • After my time at QT I wanted to try something new and different - A fine dining
    restaurant and bar.
  • I worked both floor and bar where I learned from scratch a new fine dining sequence of
    service.
  • At MGX everything had to be perfect, if it wasnt it would not be served, this is where I
    learned classic cocktail and wine service.
  • MGX was a new recently opened venue and I was fortunate enough to work alongside
    some of the cities best, everyone that came to open MGX came from past management
    roles so there was a wealth of knowledge behind the bar.
  • Bar Margaux went on to win awards at the Good Food awards where I was nominated for "Rookie of the year" (bartenders under 23). Bar Margaux also won "Best New Cocktail Bar" in Melbourne and top 10 Cocktail bars in the Asia/Pacific region.

  • Beginning as a Bar-back I learned the BOH procedures, how to prep the bar and help the
    bartenders where possible. Polished glassware cut and prepared garnishes, prepared and batched cocktail mixes, prepare and set function areas with drink packages. Restock bar fridges to par levels.
  • Before moving into the bar I worked the floor, where I learned the ways of table service and running food and taking drink orders for large groups or small tables. I would host functions with function packages and ensure they are having a good time. I would often host VIP guests and provide bottle service if requested.
  • Moving into the Bar as a Bartender I would provide exceptional customer service
    making everyone that came into the venue feel at home and welcome. Made cocktails,
    poured wines beers and spirits with extensive knowledge on the product being sold.
  • After 1 year in the venue I made my way through the ranks from barback onto the floor, into the bar and after being the head bartender and supervisor I was promoted to bar manager. In this position I would lead the team through a record Summer for revenue and helped open an additional garden bar outside of the rooftop. I would open and close the venue doing cash up and writing service reports, I would help the Assistant venue manager with rostering and was in charge of training and recruiting bar and floor staff. In this role is where I gained most of my experience and learned the most of the industry.
