Jay McDonald

I began working at McDonald's at the end of September 2023 and continued until the beginning of May 2024. During my five months there, I enhanced my customer service skills and gained valuable experience in various areas. I decided to leave the position to move to Hamilton, where I am now studying at the University of Waikato and to be closer to my family.

• Assisted in organizing and executing various school events catering to large crowds.
• Prepared and cooked food, including traditional hangi, ensuring high-quality and timely service.
• Served food and managed table clearing, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
• Performed cleaning duties to uphold hygiene and safety standards.
• Provided a welcoming and safe environment for all visitors, enhancing their overall event experience.

• During school holidays and weekends, I actively support my family and grandparents by taking on a variety of outdoor tasks. These responsibilities include maintaining the garden through planting, weeding, and trimming hedges, as well as ensuring the cleanliness of our home's exterior and vehicles by washing and detailing them. Additionally, I regularly walk our dogs, contributing to their exercise and well-being. This experience has helped me develop a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a sense of responsibility.
