  • Starting my apprenticeship there and then returning as a qualified butcher was quite rewarding.

  • Drury Meats took me on as an apprentice and helped me become qualified.
  • Here, I learned a lot of new skills and working abilities with new people and new ways of butchering.
  • The job skills are very similar to M21: meats, butchering, packing, and serving.
  • We also did our own cleaning at the end of the day, of all the machines, floors, etc.
  • I am familiar with opening and closing the shop, and handling money.
  • Dealing with customers' queries and helping in any way that I could.
  • During my working life, it has been instilled in me that we want the customer leaving feeling heard and respected, wanting them to come back to a place they know will take care of them.
  • Also, being able to educate people about things that could help them, not withholding information that could help a customer understand the process better.
