As a motivated and enthusiastic nurse, I have dedicated the past 10 months to specialising in Haematology, where my empathetic nature has driven me to support patients in vulnerable situations. This experience has not only deepened my clinical decision-making skills but also enhanced my ability to address the unique needs of this patient population. Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, I have effectively managed patient care, delegating responsibilities and ensuring comprehensive treatment plans.
I have developed critical skills in working with central lines, transplants, and transfusions, allowing me to deliver safe and effective nursing interventions. My nursing philosophy centres on treating the whole person, focusing on individual patient needs beyond their diagnoses. Throughout this year, I have thrived in a high-demand, acute care environment, gaining resilience and adaptability.
I am eager to explore new nursing specialties and further broaden my skill set, continuing my commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
As a casual health care assistant staff at Mercy Ascot I have been fortunate enough to position myself in various areas including, theatre, admissions and on the ward setting. Through this position I have gained great insight into the surgical area within nursing. Not only have I had this clinical experience, I have developed valuable nursing skills such as time management, through getting patients ready for theatre and working in theatre. I have also strengthened my interprofessional relationships, working with various health professionals and colleagues in the treatment and assessment of patients.
