Current Role

Responsibilities include and notwithstanding:


Client Services & Management:

  • Formal engagement for new clients, identifying and setting up service delivery contracts, ensuring AML compliance is adhered to as per company policy, managing CRM database maintenance and updating IRD tax connectivity and accuracy.
  • Xero accounting subscriptions enable new set up or financial review of existing financial transactions and compliance scheduling for tax related matters, such as GST, Income tax, FBT, PAYE etc.
  • Xero software training as well as identify 'best practice' approach tailored to client's requirements.
  • Set up Payroll software for employees and provide HR support for employee related matters.
  • Provide bookkeeping services - including frequent reconciliation of client's Bank accounts using Xero.
  • Prepare and file GST, Income Tax, PAYE & FBT Tax returns as per IRD registration/compliance requirement and communications with clients about their obligations.
  • Manage IRD notifications for outstanding tax matters and liaise with client.
  • Provide support and solutions to client queries, including alternative tax payment solutions, Xero accounting transactional issues, IT issues with interfacing software etc.
  • Manage tax pooling services, set up new and monitor existing arrangements in place.
  • Analysis and review of client's financial performance, including budgeting, asset management, forecasting and cashflow.
  • Formation of new companies for clients and conversely cessation of companies for clients with NZ Companies Office (MBIE).


The New Zealand Initiative (1 day a week)

  • Provide Bookkeeping services onsite using Xero, including monthly asset review, asset depreciation and annual leave liability accruals.
  • Attend to Tax compliance matters.
  • Prepare and process fortnightly payroll including setting up new employees, resignation of and HR administration of employees files etc.
  • Annual preparation of financial information for auditors.
  • Quarterly board financial management reporting including commentary about current financial matters.
  • Annual Review of Insurances including, health insurance scheme for employees.


Office Management:

  • Ensure smooth general day to day operational activity of business, including monitoring/managing: Office supplies, IT systems, annual archiving and secure destruction of sensitive material.
  • Provide IT support and induction training for new employees, including setting up access to systems etc.
  • Maintain company website.
  • Schedule and arrange staff training webinars where applicable,
  • Annual leave scheduling over Christmas/New years.
  • Monitor filing statistics with Inland Revenue and scheduling of client's work throughout tax year.
  • Liaise with Managing Director, updating them of any serious client related matters.
  • Company Bookkeeping including client billing for accounting work, fees and disbursements.
  • EA support to Managing Director, including accommodation and airfare bookings when required, assist with client correspondence, meetings etc.
